The Kenaboi River Challenge 2008 was held on the 1st November 2008 for the Rapids Challenge and on the 2nd November it was the River Challenge and had received very good response from all Kayakers througout Malaysia and also from the foreigners who came here in great numbers with sporting spirit to join in the race. The foreigners were from Singapore and Australia.

In this year Rapids Challenge 2008, there were 38 participants, 18 were International participants from Singapore and Australia while the remainings 20 were locals from Malaysia. The numbers of participants for 2008 tripled the numbers compared to the last year event whereby only 13 Malaysians took part in The Rapids Challenge. It was a 17 km race and was a tough watersport event.

In the River Challenge 2008, 137 participant all Malaysians participated in this event. During the previous year, there were only 104 participants but now it has shown a 24% increased in the numbers of participants. The River Challenge was a 32km race and it consist of the individual event and the team event. It's no doubt that the number of participants in the following years to come might also increase because of the response from all clubs dan kayaking members, both local and international will come back bringing more and more friends to this whitewater race in the next year event.

The main reason for the JPS Negeri Sembilan organising this river challenge in Kenaboi at the very begining was to make the people understand how important it was to preserve the cleanliness of the rivers and to protect the rivers with the green environments whereby at the same time the rivers used to supply drinking water for the benefit of everybody can also becomes the natural source of recreational activities.

At the end of the day on the 2nd November 2008, it seemed that the Kenaboi River Challenge 2008 was a great success. It has brought a lot of changes and attraction and unexpectedly it had also broken the record to make the Rapids Challenge an International event of the year whereby the numbers of participant took part showed a good sign for the future of the Kenaboi River Challenge.

The Director of the Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Negeri Sembilan - Ir Hj Baharuddin bin Ahmad Nasir in his speech wished many thanks to all and everybody involved and mentioned on the good co-operation between all government officials committee and the non government officials committee involved that made this event a great success and he also wished many thanks to all kayak club members and Kayak sport lovers who sacrificed the two days to be in Kenaboi and had made this event so lovely and will forever be a good remembrance to all participants and to all involved in this event.

A local man proudly showing the sign board of River Kenaboi that has brought glamour to the Kenaboi Village and it will forever be a sweet remembrance to all who had arrived to this destination.
"KENABOI RIVER" - A NAME TO REMEMBER FOR THE NEXT "KENABOI RIVER CHALLENGE".
